HEY!
We had our Halloween party on Monday! It turned out really well. There were a decent amount of people that came, and a lot of families and non-member families too. It was a good opportunity. We did some pumpkin carving, some other games, and trick or treating in the church. The little kids were having a blast. They were so cute. There is nothing in this world as cute as a chubby little asian toddler dressed up like a princess. I'm pretty sure Jesus was smiling.
This week we did a ton of less-active work. We were able to meet with a couple less-actives and also just update the list quite a bit. One of the less-actives we met was so wonderful. She really felt just like an active member, but because her husband hates churches she can't come to church. We talked with her quite a bit and could really feel the Spirit. She owns the restaurant that we met her at so we are going to go and help her every once in a while when she is working by herself.
Funny story (or maybe not so funny): Yesterday Sister Kim was bitten by a dog. Yeah, I know, it doesn't sound too funny, but we've been laughing about it ever since. In fact, Sister Kim is singing a song to herself in English right now as I write this. "Crazy-crazy-crazy dog. Crazy-crazy-crazy dog." I wish we had a cool story to go with it but it was pretty boring, actually. We were visiting a non-member family and as Sister Kim was reaching for some fruit on the table, the dog lunged out and attacked her. (It thought she had food.) It was just a little bite on her pinkie, but we called Sister Barrow just to make sure. It turned into a whole bigger episode than it needed to be, but because of church policy with things like this we had to do a lot of phone calling and checking to see if the dog had vaccinations and things like that. Sister Kim was so embarrassed. Anyway, we are laughing about it now.
There was another big stake activity, a Music Night, that we all went to that was awesome. It was so cool to go in and see all the members from Shinjeong there. It really felt like Christmas just to wave at them and talk with them. Miracle boy was there too! He came over during part of the performances and just stood next to me and told me about things going on in Shinjeong. Goodness, I love that kid. I am so grateful I've been able to get to know all these wonderful members in Shinjeong and Pohang. They are awesome. Later, for Pohang's skit, we did the Sound of Music. Sister Kim and I just came on for one song but it was really fun.
With investigators, there was nothing really new for this week, but we are still working on our pool of potentials that we need to meet with. We have been fasting and praying a lot lately for some of these people to start progressing and we can feel the Lord helping us. One of the coolest things is to see how the branch has been uniting together in the work, especially since the “hour of power” program we started last week. This Sunday in Fast and Testimony Meeting most of the members that got up shared how they have felt a special Spirit during that time. They are focusing more on the work. We can definitely feel it too as we are out working. I love it!
