HEY!
The earthquakes have still been coming! There was another decent one this last Monday (not quite as big, only a 4.5) but Sister Rix and I were out on the street walking and didn't really feel it. It is the talk of the town right now, though. People are particularly kind of scared of Monday nights, since the last two weeks had big ones at the same time. We'll see about tonight!
We've met some really cool people this week. While we were out sticker boarding one night a woman came up to me and asked if I remembered her. I honestly wasn't sure, and she said, "From Daegu!" I was shocked. I guess I met her about a year ago out on the street when I was serving is Gyeongsan, and while I didn't remember her, she knew me. She told me that she moved to Pohang, and has been really sick lately. She has cancer. She said that she used to go to our church a little when she was young. She said that she really wants to learn more about our church again, and said, "Can I come this week?" HALLELUJAH! We had Stake Conference this week in Ulsan, so she wasn't able to come, but she still really wants to come this next week. That was definitely one of those "God is really in charge of this work" moments.
We had Stake Conference in Ulsan this week! It was super cool to go and see all the Shinjeong members. Also, the girl that we taught last transfer from Ukraine came! That was awesome. Shinjeong is blowing up with all the stuff going on. Apparently "PYJ" came to church again, and is meeting with the sisters every week! I almost cried when I heard that. The other golden woman that we started teaching right before I transferred basically has a baptismal date, and another girl is still meeting and progressing. They don't really have any new investigators, but all of those that we were teaching are progressing really well. So good!
Things are still really progressing with the branch here. We have visited almost all of the families, and have a pretty good relationship with them so far. When we visited one of the families this week for dinner, right before we went to their house the sister called and told us that she had invited a friend. Whoo hoo! She wanted us to be gentle with the friend, but it was really good to talk with her and start to develop a relationship. The friend has the cutest little boys. Pretty cool!
Hopefully we will be able to really start meeting people this week. We have already set up a couple appointments with new investigators, and still have a ton more to do. It will be good though!
I can't remember if I mentioned it last week, but next transfer Elder Bednar will be coming and visiting our mission! We are stoked.
With the woman we met sticker boarding and several other experiences this week, I was able to see again how in control God really is in this work. He is guiding and preparing people, and even those are not prepared right away will have experiences that open them up in the future. It is so cool to see that.
I love you!
