HEY!
This was a good week! As we were moving along in it, it seemed busy and exciting, but now as I look back on it, it was pretty low-key. We did meet with some more investigators and talked to a lot of people, and that was really good. We were also stood up on Monday by a potential investigator. (It's okay, she feels really bad and we'll hopefully meet soon.)
On Wednesday, we were going to meet another new investigator but she texted us and told us she was sick and couldn't meet. So we contacted a bunch of other people and one previous investigator that we called asked if we would meet her- right then. We ran out and met her, and she took us to her house. She is SO nice. I think her biggest interest is in English, but she really likes us anyway. Funny thing- her English textbook is the Gospel Principles book in English. No shame. As we just talk with her and talk about the gospel, she seems very interested and shares personal experiences with us. We testify and feel the Spirit. But then when we ask if we can share our "official" message, she kind of checks out. She has told us that she wants to find peace and know if God is there, and then has told us that she doesn't want to pray or learn. It's like she doesn't want to be an investigator or progress, but wants to at the same time. JUST PRAY for goodness sake! Oh well.
We met with another new investigator this week! She is Vietnamese. Her family was all Buddhist and she never really learned anything about God or Christianity. We have definitely had to start right from the beginning, because she doesn't have much of a foundation. But it was really good! I could feel the Spirit a lot as we just testified that God lives, that He is our Father, and that He loves us.
We have visited a lot of members already this transfer, and I feel that we are starting to get really good relationships with them. A few of them have already told us about to people they are wanting to refer to us. Tonight we'll be having dinner with a member and a friend of hers that she wants us to teach. We are excited!!!
We had Branch Conference yesterday! President and Sister Barrow came. It was super good, and then afterwards there was a baptism for one of the Elder's investigators! It was a wonderful day. I really think the most stressful part of it was having to translate for Sister Barrow. SO SCARY.
This transfer, I have been more tired than ever, but also feel really good. While I feel like I can never do enough, we are working hard and have seen SO many blessings and miracles. The Lord is definitely guiding us to something. We are focusing on inviting and having the Spirit be the teacher this transfer, and as we have worked to invite everyone that we meet to come to Christ, we can feel the Lord backing us up and working with us. I LOVE IT.
Goodness. I am sorry for the short emails these last few weeks. I need to think of some interesting things to write for the next one. I think I'm starting to sound like Tristan. Oops.
I love you!
