Hey!
We have seen a crazy amount of miracles this week. First off, I LOVE serving with Sister Kim SooJung. She is incredible. I feel really at one with her, and I have never had so much fun as we go out and talk to people. I love serving with someone that really pushes with me and wants to work hard. In just the last week, we almost doubled the highest number of street lessons and total lessons that we had in one week last transfer. I am so grateful for the chance I have to serve with Sister Kim. She was baptized about two years ago, and none of her family are members. They aren't very supportive, and have said some hurtful things to her because she is serving a mission. It has been awe inspiring to hear her stories and see how she reacts. She is awesome.
It has been so good to hear about Jinju and Sacheon too! "KML" i is doing really well and is progressing a lot. I guess she has been going to a mission prep/ PMG class in Jinju. So cool!
Things are continuing to progress with our investigators and members! We still need to start just meeting with most of them, but things are going well. We met with this guy from Pakistan that got our number and had been texting us every meal and calling us every night for the last week. He just is a really nice guy and likes meeting good people. Of course, when Sister Kim came in she was a little creeped out and was pretty straight with him. We met him with the Elders the other day though, and it was really good! Luckily, he seemed to really like the elders too, so hopefully he'll text and call them instead.
Definitely the highlight for this week (or a big one for my mission) was when Elder Bednar visited. It was INCREDIBLE. Of course, it was really cool to just be there, but then to look up and see him and his wife sitting at the front was Christmas. He shared some incredible things with us, that really made us think (you know Elder Bednar...) and the Spirit was so strong. I was so impressed to see how an Apostle of the Lord acts, teaches, and thinks. He really lives the principles he teaches. The power of his calling was undeniable. It was actually really exhausting- it was so intense. I am so grateful for the chance I had to be in the presence of an Apostle, hear him, and then look into his eyes and shake his hand. It was so cool.
He talked about a lot of things in the meeting, but one thing that I have thought a lot about since then was how everything in the gospel can be simplified down to one thing. That a man and woman can be sealed together for all eternity and can be happy in the home. The Plan of Salvation really influences everything I think about and do, although I don't realize it. I was talking to Sister Kim about it this morning, and she told me that she likes that the most in the gospel. Before knowing about the gospel she would just hang out with friends and drink for fun (which most Korean students do) and she said she wasn't really happy. Now she can't get over how incredible each principle of the gospel is. It is incredible.
I love you all so much!
