Hey!
This is going to be a pretty short quick email. Sorry! We had a big activity with the members in our district in another part of Ulsan. We haven't had a lot of time, so we are just emailing pretty quick!
This week has been great, but goodness has it been stressful. We had two exchanges this week and then have one more this next week, so it has been super busy. We have seen a lot of blessings in our area but we have a lot to do to catch up too. ;)
We did meet with one woman this week that has a lot of interest in the church. We are meeting with her to teach her sons English, but when we met and explained the 30/30 program, she seemed just as interest in the gospel part as the English. She asked a lot of questions, didn't seem weirded out by baptism, and committed to come to church. On Sunday, she texted us and said that she had worked the whole night and was just finishing as church started, so she wasn't able to make it, but she really wants to come next week. We are excited!
One of our others members also brought her niece to church with her and told us, "Here is your new investigator. Teach her." We connected with the niece right away and she had a very good time and loved talking with us. However, she goes to school in Daegu (Gyeongsan! My first area! Whoo!) and only comes back to Ulsan once or twice a month. Hopefully we will be able to refer her over to the Gyeongsan sisters.
Funny story: On Monday we went to a party some members were throwing for a less-active. It was a REALLY good opportunity. Although, to surprise the less-active, one of the members decided to dress the missionaries up in costumes. I lucked out and only had to wear big fluffy ears because I was carrying the cake, but the other missionaries weren't so lucky. Two of them had to wear fat suits and another was a hot dog. Sister Han was a fish head. We got some good videos out of the experience though. I think we scared the less-active a little bit.
This transfer has gone by so fast. I am really started to shake in my boots at how fast my mission time is going by. In our area, one of the elders is going home this transfer and another one the next. I'm getting a little scared. Anyway- we are not sure what will happen with transfers, but we will see this Saturday! Sister Han has been here for three transfers (it is her training area) so we are thinking that I may stay. We are not sure though! Guess you'll see next week!
With all the exchanges going on, I have been thinking a lot about how I can be a more efficient missionary. I've been with a range of sisters that are striving to be obedient and follow the Spirit, but also those that struggle with the rules and are lacking desire. Over all it all comes down to our relationship with Christ, and how well we understand the importance of our work and the Spirit in it. As we learn about Christ, we naturally want to follow His example in all that He did- in finding, teaching, serving, and leading. I am still a far ways off, but I am so grateful that I have this opportunity to represent Him in this work. I know that He loves us perfectly, and is proud of every step we take is His direction. Even if they almost always seem like small ones.
I love you!
