Hey Family!
I have had such an incredible week! I got the package on Monday. IT MADE ME SO HAPPY. Seriously, I think that was the best day so far here at the MTC. Thank you for all the snacks and pics and everything! The T-shirt is BEAUTIFUL. I'm going to be such a hipster here at the MTC. Thanks! When I pulled out the stress ball, it was almost immediately taken from me and was airborne. The Elders bounced it around the room and against the ceiling and walls for a long time. They were so happy. Elder Kahng took it down the hallway to show it off to everyone else. Eventually it evolved into putting the ball into a little chinese paper lamp and swinging it at each other David and Goliath style. Anyway, Monday was a happy day. Thank you so much!!! That really made the week!
It has been one month! So exciting. It feels like we have been here forever, but also has gone by so quickly. I love my District so darn much. We are all the best of friends. None of the Elders in my district are going to Korea. They are going to California, Canada, New Jersey, etc. There are a few Elders in my zone that are going to Busan though.
Our recent lessons with our investigators have been AWESOME. Our drunk investigator has been sober lately, and is teaching himself better than we are. In our last lesson, he basically called himself to repentance, invited himself to be baptized, and reminded us to say a prayer. I felt like the worst teacher ever. However, we had an incredible discussion, and I have learned that the investigator should be the one driving the lessons. We are just there to help and to invite them to come to Christ. We were also able to get our other investigator to commit to baptism. I love teaching more and more and I am so excited to go to Korea really teach!
I have actually been sick lately. After Sister Allred got better I started feeling a cold coming on. Yesterday was pretty hard but everyone was SO kind. It was still a wonderful day. It is already getting better!
I have seen so many people that I knew at BYU and other places. Yesterday, I saw Taylor Knapp, who is teaching here. I also saw Beth, who was going in for TRC! So fun!
I got an email from Grandma Stapley today! It was so wonderful to read! I loved the thoughts and hearing about David going on Trek.
Sister Allred's mom also sent some dark chocolate for me in her last package. It was SO NICE! Please tell her how thankful I am! She is the sweetest!
Sister Allred is just so awesome. I am so glad I can study the scriptures and teach with her. I have learned so much from her! She is so patient and kind, and is the hardest worker. Seriously, I feel I need to work so much harder to keep up. I am so grateful for her! We have a blast! In sacrament meeting, our Branch President will always call two speakers from the Branch to come up and give a talk on the spot. We know what the topic is before hand, but never know who will speak. This Sunday he called Sister Allred as one of the speakers! She was super nervous but went up and did an incredible job.
Anyway, I know this email is pretty short, but I am going to try and figure out how to send some more pictures. I really love the work more and more day by day. Every lesson we learn something about teaching. Every day I see something that I need to work on and feel closer to my Savior. I am just so happy to be a part of this!
I love you all!
